Food Safety & Hygiene Standards.
Ensuring food safety is our paramount concern, and we adhere to internationally recognized standards at every step. Our facility operates under a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) plan. This scientifically based system allows us to identify potential hazards (biological, chemical, and physical) in the processing line and implement critical control points to eliminate or minimize risks. By methodically identifying and monitoring potential risks, HACCP-based quality assurance measures boost consumer confidence and keep our operations in line with strict industry standards. We view HACCP not just as a regulatory requirement but as a company ethos – a proactive approach to food safety that is engrained in our daily routines.
In tandem with HACCP, we enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) throughout the plant. GMP guidelines cover all aspects from personal hygiene and staff training to equipment sanitation and proper handling of meat products. These practices help prevent contamination or cross-contamination at every stage, ensuring that the meat leaving our facility is clean and safe for consumption. Our employees are trained in food handling best practices, and our plant’s design facilitates easy cleaning and sanitization (e.g., stainless steel surfaces, high-pressure washing systems, separation of clean and dirty zones).
We conduct routine microbiological testing on surfaces and products to verify the efficacy of our cleaning and hygiene protocols. Additionally, our cold chain management is rigorously maintained; from the moment an animal is slaughtered and the meat chilled, we keep tight control on temperature to inhibit bacterial growth. Our cold rooms and freezers are monitored 24/7, and we use data loggers during transit to ensure the cold chain remains unbroken until delivery. In fact, prior to export, products are stored in on-site cold storage and at the airport in specialized cold facilities to preserve quality. Collectively, these measures mean that our operations not only meet but exceed the baseline food safety requirements set by regulators – an effort that is verified via internal audits and frequent inspections by independent bodies and customers.
Certifications & Compliance
We strictly follow Halal slaughter and handling procedures endorsed by recognized Islamic authorities. Halal supervisors oversee our slaughter process to certify that it meets all requirements (proper invocation, animal welfare, no stunning that causes death, thorough bleeding, etc.). This certification is renewed as required and is recognized by major Halal markets globally. We guarantee the supply of a range of authentic Halal meat products by procuring only accepted animals and inputs and processing under conditions that maintain purity and compliance.
Animal Welfare Protocols.
Respect for animals is a core value at Prime Path. We believe that high product quality goes hand-in-hand with ethical practices in animal rearing and handling. Our Animal Welfare Protocols ensure that livestock are treated humanely at all stages – from the farm, through transport, to the point of slaughter.
We work with farmers to encourage good animal husbandry: ample pasture time, proper nutrition (largely natural grazing, which contributes to the organic quality of the meat), and low-stress handling. When sourcing, we prioritize animals that are healthy and have been raised under conditions free from undue stress or cruelty. Prior to transport, animals are inspected and cleared as fit for travel, and we follow guidelines for humane transport (not overcrowding trucks, providing water on long journeys, etc.) to minimize distress.
At our processing facility, we have purpose-built lairage (holding pens) that are spacious, shaded, and calm. The animals are allowed to rest before slaughter, which is important for both animal welfare and meat quality. Our staff is trained in humane handling techniques and follows the principles of the OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health) for animal welfare. We ensure proper stunning (where applicable and permissible under Halal) or immediate slaughter with a sharp knife by experienced butchers to prevent suffering.
Our Halal slaughter process itself is designed to be quick and compassionate – a swift cut to the neck by a licensed Halal butcher, accompanied by the appropriate blessings. Animals are never slaughtered in view of one another, and we maintain cleanliness and respect throughout the process.
We routinely audit our animal handling procedures. Any non-conformance (e.g., an animal showing undue stress) triggers a review and corrective action. Additionally, third-party Halal certifiers and veterinary inspectors monitor compliance with humane slaughter standards each day.
We firmly stand by the principle that our meat comes from animals that have had a happy and healthy life. This not only is the right thing to do ethically, but it also results in better quality meat. Stress-free animals yield meat that is tender and of superior taste, without the adverse effects that stress hormones can cause. Our customers and end consumers can be confident that Prime Path’s products are the result of compassion and care at every step.
Sustainability Initiatives
We continually explore packaging solutions that reduce environmental impact. Wherever feasible, we use recyclable or biodegradable packaging materials for our meat products. For example, our vacuum packs and cartons are chosen for their recyclability, and we avoid unnecessary plastic use. We are also piloting the use of innovative packaging that can extend shelf-life (reducing food waste) without relying on additives or heavy plastics. Our goal is to balance product protection with environmental responsibility, in line with emerging sustainable packaging standards in the food industry.
