For urgent shipments or fresh-chilled meat orders, we use air cargo services out of Entebbe International Airport. Air freight offers speed – critical for maintaining freshness of chilled meat. We have established working relationships with major cargo airlines (for example, utilizing carriers like Qatar Airways which has been instrumental in Uganda’s recent meat exports) to secure space and proper handling for our goods. Shipments are consolidated into refrigerated (reefer) containers or ULDs (Unit Load Devices) at the airport’s cold storage facilities right up until loading, ensuring the cold chain is maintained. Airway bills, health certificates, Halal certificates, and other documents are prepared in advance by our logistics team to expedite clearance.

For large volume orders, frozen products, or less time-sensitive deliveries, we offer sea freight shipping through Mombasa or Dar es Salaam ports. We load products into refrigerated sea containers (reefers) at our facility, where they are sealed and temperature set (e.g., -20°C for frozen meat). Our team handles the booking of container vessels, inland transport to the port, and all customs/export paperwork. We monitor the container’s journey through satellite tracking and require shipping lines to provide temperature records for the voyage. With sea freight, we can economically deliver bulk meat shipments worldwide, including to the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

International trade of meat requires thorough documentation and compliance. Prime Path manages all necessary export documentation, including export permits, customs declarations, veterinary health certificates, Halal certificates, Certificates of Origin, and any specific documents required by the importing country (such as chamber of commerce attestation or embassy legalizations). We stay updated on each country’s import regulations to ensure shipments meet all requirements (for example, adherence to Gulf Cooperation Council import standards or European Union hygiene regulations when applicable).

Whether by air or sea, maintaining the correct temperature of meat products is non-negotiable. Our logistics service puts a heavy emphasis on cold chain integrity. We use insulated trucks with refrigeration for any overland transport legs. We also incorporate temperature loggers in shipments – these devices record temperature throughout transit and can be analyzed to confirm that products remained within the safe range. Clients are often provided with these temperature records for assurance. We plan routes and transit times carefully; even during trans-shipments or layovers, we ensure meat is held in temperature-controlled environments.
